Newest member to join PAISAA

The Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association welcomes Girard College as the newest member  to PAISAA, the official state association for independent schools in the commonwealth. Girard College is a member of the Penn-Jersey Athletic Association and was formerly a member of the PIAA. Girard College officials completed the necessary application and process through the course of winter and early spring 2021 and will begin full membership and partcipation in PAISAA events in the 2021-2022 school year. Girard will be part of the Group of 8 schools (G8) in PAISAA, a group that joins the InterAcademic League and the Friends Schools League to constitute PAISAA representation. Corey Durkin is serving as the
Director of Athletics for Girard College.

"I want to thank all of the people at Girard College, particularly Jon Tucker and James Turner, along with Corey Durkin, for their diligence and enthusiasm in leading this move. Girard College is a great fit with the philosophy and approach of our organization," commented Rick Hendrickson, president of PAISAA.

"We're excited to join the schools of PAISAA; we think this gives our student-athletes and coaches excellent opportunities," added Durkin.
