The Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA) is the recognized entity for the support of interscholastic athletic programs for independent schools in the state of Pennsylvania. PAISAA offers professional development opportunities for membership, preserves and enhances existing state events, and works to create additional state events through the development of coaches' associations for each sport. The association is committed to the foundation pillars of interscholastic athletics-integrity, sportsmanship, participation, and leadership.
PAISAA is recognized by the PIAA and is an affiliate member of the National Federation of High Schools.
Good Morning PAISAA,
I hope this email, which will be posted to the website, finds you moving at a slower pace as you close out the school year! Before we end the 2022-2023 year, I'd like to say CONGRATULATIONS to the winners during the Spring Season:
Here are the Spring Meeting Agenda and Minutes. As shared several times during our call, we need each School to step up and serve PAISAA either on the executive board or on tournament committees. PAISAA still needs someone to serve as Secretary and Treasurer. Please consider serving in this capacity (see below.) The G9 has moved back to the G8 given the provisional status of Jack M Barrack Hebrew Academy joining the Friends School League. PAISAA Tennis will begin in the Fall of 2023 and those committees will need to do summer work to organize that post-season tournament.
According to the PAISAA Constitution and By-Laws the Board Positions should be presented to the membership for ratification, and since we do not meet in person before the next school year, I am asking for your consent* for the following Board appointments by June 15, 2023, to begin on July 1, 2023:
*Should you consent, then you need to do nothing. Should you not consent, then please email me and Chris Spahn before June 15.
Ed Foley has sent along the billing for spring PAISAA tournaments, please be prompt in your payments. The 2022-2023 books should be closed no later than June 15. As we turn to 2023-2024 the membership dues will move to $300. I will send information in mid-August regarding school information and a dues reminder. Thank you, Ed, for all your work to keep PAISAA financially intact.
Many thanks to Chris Spahn, Courtney Lubbe, Ed Foley, and Mike Lintulahti for your service to the PAISAA Executive Board. Chris will be moving into the position of Past President and Courtney, Ed, and Mike will be moving off the Board. I appreciate your collegiality and insights as we move our association forward. Welcome to Bill Klose from Friends Select School as he steps into the role of FSL At-Large Board member.
Additionally, a huge shout out to Ginny Hofmann who keeps our website updated. There are many times when she is scrolling through social media to get scores to post or she graciously receives emails from me at all hours and is respectively kind. Thank you, Ginny, for all you do for PAISAA. We appreciate you!
Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the hard work and hours all of you put towards your respective athletic programs. Take a collective breath and enjoy some time away! Cheers, and Happy Summer!
Best,
Michelle
