GA caps off a terrific season with a 3-1 win over Notre Dame

Germantown Academy claimed its first PAISAA Volleyball title with a 3-1 win over Notre Dame. After falling in straight sets to ND last year in the championship game GA was ready to compete. They went out to a 2-0 lead and then the third game was a real battle with ND winning 34-32. GA bounced back in the 4th and final game 25-20.  Caroline Smith led the offense with 23 kills, 7 digs and two blocks. Hadley Evan’s added 12 kills and Emily Pokorny had 9 kills. Liz Reynolds spearheaded the defense along with Ally DellaFranzia and Abby Traina. Reynolds also led the team with 4 aces. Angie Wang had 23 assists, 2 kills, 3 aces and 7 digs. Nicole Ward contributed 19 assists. The team finished the season 23-3-1 and 8-0 in the league. Their first state championship in school history was combined with back to back Interac League Championships- a truly memorable season.
