A strong team effort helped EA Boys surge in the heat

EA boys track had a terrific day in the unbearable heat to bring home the PAISAA championship. It was the first PAISAA title for the EA team. According to Coach Richards it was one of their goals for this season but with injuries to some top runners the goal seemed to be slipping away.  However, the team picked each other up and exceeded expectation in a number of events. Coach Richards said "It was a complete team victory and I'm proud of how they overcame adversity to win this championship. "

Mekhi Rodgers, a senior captain, led the way for the team. He scored in all four of his individual events- 100, 200, Long Jump and Triple Jump. Michael Woolery won the 800 and 1600 and ran in the winning 4x400 relay, Aidan McHugh won the 3200 and finished 3rd in the 800 and was in the winning 4x400 relay, and the 4x400 and 4x800 relays also took first place.  Alphonso Koukou was second in the shotput. Dakin Ebmeyer finished 3rd in the 1600 and 4th in the 800.

This first PAISAA title came on the heels of EA winning their first Interac Championship in 43 years. It was a great season.
