The PAISAA state track & field meet's history precedes the state athletic association itself, stretching back to the 1990s when the Hill School hosted a defacto state meet for private schools.

The meet came under the umbrella of the state association in 2010, when Academy of Notre Dame captured the girls championship and Germantown Friends won the boys' title.
