2011 marked the inaugural Pennsylvania Independent Schools State Championship in softball, as schools from the MAPL, the InterAc, and the Friends League battled for the first PAISAA state title.    

Abington Friends captured the first PAISAA state championship, downing Penn Charter 6-3 for the 2011 crown. Mercersburg Academy outlasted Agnes Irwin 4-0 in the 2012 finale, then Agnes Irwin returned to the championship in 2013, and claimed a 2-0 victory over Episcopal Academy. EA returned the favor in 2014, defeating AI in the finals, 1-0. 

The early bracket games are held at the higher seed, and the finals are held at a neutral site.
