The roots of the Pennsylvania Independent Schools baseball championship date to 1993, with 10 participating schools.  After Chestnut Hill Academy captured the initial championship, the Hill School dominated the 90s, winning four of five state titles from 1994 to 1999. Mercersburg Academy, Malvern Prep, and Haverford have each also claimed multiple championships since 2000. 

The single elimination tournament is contested the week leading into Memorial Day weekend, with the semi-finals and finals taking place in the Upper Perkiomen Valley at The Perkiomen School and Upper Perkiomen High School.
